I recently picked up this looker of a keyboard. The case design and quality are superb, unfortunately this one is impossible to type on. The switches are Hi-Tek High Profile which are notorious for cracked sliders.

Hard to see but typical with the flat-top version of this switch there is Hi-Tek branding under the space bar.

Oh, that's a shame. Those waffle frame switches are never any good. They spoil what is otherwise a decidedly elegant looking board. The case design is very flash, and the caps are stellar.

Makes you wonder what else you could retrofit in here…

There's quite a lot of Hi-Tek doubleshots still out there. What would they be like on adapters, for MX?

There's enough room inside the large stem that one could likely fit a ton of adapters into them without any trouble.

Built from custom-extruded aluminium profile?

Thanks for sharing that fix. Looks like an elegant solution.
