Wasn't there a project for recreating Alps' "complicated" actuation plates? There may be some work there that you could use?

Hearsay that I remember:
* Different surfaces on the bottom of blue Alps sliders compared to other Alps sliders
* Softer plastic in Blue sliders compared to other Alps
* Blue sliders are lubricated, while other Alps are not (?)
I can't confirm any of it, but you could use them as leads to investigate.
