I think this seller sold a similar product earlier so it may be worth keeping an eye on his future auctions.
He sold the exact same thing for <$50 a month ago, and the buyer never paid (I asked him), so he relisted. I bet hes glad that the price was tripled lol
Sounds like the buyer is a bit of an idiot for letting an industrial m13 slip away

Is this only because of the salmon alps? Are they much better than blue alps?

I have bought an old logo Dell that had black Alps and lasered ABS caps.
It came from Cindy and was awfully dirty so I doubt that it had been modified from its original configuration.

That'll be the 97SK. Do you remember the type of printing of the logo on the case?

No - blue alps are definitely more coveted than Salmon Alps. The thing about this board is a few things - the old Dell logo, the PBT dye-subbed Alps keycaps in an ANSI and standard layout for the most part. It's also fairly rare...but not exceedingly so - to be honest, I don't understand how this became such a hot commodity - it's kinda like Nixdorf boards with their 'nixie mx blacks'. At least blue alps earned their hype because of their legendary key feel.

Cherry fanboys pay ludicrous prices for vintage PBT Cherry caps in ANSI, way more than these.

As true and ridiculous as that may be, there are other boards that have PBT alps keycaps that don't sell for this much. Doesn't the SGI granite also have PBT caps? The z-150 also came with PBT on some of it's boards, but I assume to credit it's layout for the reason it doesn't sell super high.

Also, what about the fangirls, fohat? =P

The thickness may also have something to do with it...apparently the Dell caps are thick PBT. Yeah, the Z150's layout would kill it for most - ANSI or bust for tons of people. I love em all, I haven't found a board I couldn't get used to thus far.

EDIT - Are you guys forgetting CINDY??

Not the smart ones... the smart ones get their andi dyesubs from taobao... 150 a set vs like 3-400 if you bought it from someone else. Just a PSA

SGI Granite has a italic font (Many people dont like it, its pretty meh) and odd colors, and all other alps boards with thick pbt caps have quirks with the layout. Dell AT-101 is really the only source for thick pbt ansi caps that look normal.

No, but she's hardly a "fangirl". Last year a french lady with the nick LLRnR was here at DT on occasion, she was into Model M's and of course I helped her find the right M being the nice guy that I am. :P Other than that it's all male chumps AFAIK. Some way more "chumpy" than others.

But probably has Mitsumi linear switches, judging from the looks of it and other Commodore keyboards.

Considering the state of that keyboard, $300 is a tad much, IMO. Alps switches don't weather dust all that well.

Why would you take off the keycaps? They're hardly the most valuable/unique part of that board...
The board was missing a bunch of caps so I decided to keep them as replacements should I need them later.
