But I didn't like that one. Try harder!

How about one of these from my IBM 5100?

Too many keys?
Edit: How do you get the "banner preview" to work on all posted banners? It only seems to do it on my last banner. The others wok fine in this page of the thread? I thought that was pretty awesome by the way!

Any 980 x 190 pixel jpeg will work. Which is, coincidentally, the required format for the header!
It's a nice board, but the lighting's a bit dead. As the header despot here, I choose based on how good they look in place on the site, not on keyboard merit! Well, not only that…

Love the third one snuci.
Is the
three members endorsing rule still valid, or have you gone full dictator Mu?
I endorse snuci's third picture and chzel's second picture.

My dictatorship's going pretty well, I think. From what others have said, they're fairly happy with the results. DT's gotten a *lot* more headers since Webwit handed me the keys. And they're all good ones, purposefully so. Lots of great boards, shot thoughtfully with tasteful lighting. Take a look:
headers.php
Democracy's plenty good at some things. But taste is among its worst defects! Unlike a few head nods, I'm more than happy to say NO! TRY AGAIN!

If I may,
I think the two headers withs skulls artisans heavily clash with the other classy headers.
I absolutely loathe gaudy artisans, and I understand that is personal preference and may be in minority, but literally ALL the other headers have a noticeable "pattern" if you can call it that, it being classy and professional looking shots of vintage or replicas of all time classic keysets and hardware.

I'm generally not into skulls and such, either. But those particular shots are very nice. I try to judge based on overall photo quality — composition, lighting, mood, lighting, how well the picture sits behind the DT logo, lighting, and lighting — so I'm fairly agnostic about the photo's subject really. Everyone's human though, so sure it's easier to get a photo accepted of a classic board, especially with a vintage user, but an excellent photo always has a chance, even if I'm not that into the board in question.
Now, did I mention lighting? Harsh lit headers are something I really don't like, and go to lengths to avoid. Soft lighting looks so much better. Shoot again!

The Nixies are nice. The space invaders need a spray down with a firehouse like the filthy hobos they are! One day they'll make it. Those are some of my favourite switches too.

Thanks, that's actually rust on the plate in that space invader shot. Both need tweaking though IMO.

I made this with my blank hhkb.
Unfortunately rotating the picture unsharpened it.
If you like the idea, I could do a better job with lightroom at home.

Maybe I should adjust it to move to the right to accommodate the logo.
Edit...I guess it works

That's moar like it!
The pink & white caps are definitely worth a header, but the lighting in those isn't up to the task. What you did with those bare space invaders is so much better. More!

The second one made the cut. The first one needs better lighting. Artificial light is fine… if used artfully.

First time I have posted in this thread. What do you think?
Picture is a Microtrends yellow alps board from XMIT.
