Icarium just got a letter from the customs office... Has anyone actually had to pay VAT yet?

I did not receive anything yet...

My personal experience is that Zoll times can vary greatly.
Last month i received two shipments from US, both under value for any vat or tax. One took just above a week, while the other took 5 weeks. I made similar experience last year where i even ordered the exact same product twice from HK, same story as above. Customs just seems arbitrary.
Don't wait for it, it'll arrive eventually.

The people at our customs office seem to be nice and friendly but they have ignored the USPS customs declaration on all 20 or so deliveries I got from the US over the last year.

None, it isnt a "Handelsware".

They can and will declare it as elektronikware.

Just picked mine up at der Zoll. There was only one guy before me, he was done within 10 minutes. Mine took over half an hour...

PS. Recently I made the experience, that calling beforehand helps.

Because they have to protocol imported chemical produced stuff and he had to figure out how to do that...

But he was impressed with the packaging, so good job there Ed!

I lubed some first test switches (MX Blacks).
And it does make a difference! I find the Blacks are notably less scratchier compared to before.

Can't wait to try what it feels like with some tactile switches.

OK so rindorbrot has received (and likes) his 200. Has anyone had to pay VAT yet, or is it just sacrificed time at this point?

I believe it was 3 layers of bubblewrap, followed by a layer of cardboard, and finally the bubble mailer on the outside. I made DAMN sure nobody's tube got punctured.

No VAT, it came in the letterbox.

I had to pay 8.56€ VAT at der Zoll, forgot to write that in my post.

Well that sucks, but we expected that at least somebody would be forced to pay VAT. It's good that the other's that have arrived so far didn't need to pay VAT.
