I'm interested in one set of key caps.

I would also be interested in at least one set of Clear stems. I would be OK with broken switches as long as the stems inside are undamaged. (I will be making Panda Clears anyway)

If these aren't clears and we end up getting this off the ground, I do have a set of clear stems/springs I could sell you for $25. Shipping would be the same since it'd be packed in with the rest of the caps.

What about a bundle, one set of keycaps + one set of clear stems ?

Yea that's maybe easier for splitting the total price. If they are clears...

I've had very good results shipping sets of keycaps in wide-neck PET bottles. They weigh nothing, and protect the keycaps quite well.

what about postal tubes? :)

Keycaps in a bottle? The guys at the costum house are going to think to some high tech terrorist weapon!

"Hard item in soft padding in a hard box" is the rule I always go by.

Let me propose this simple way of packing:
1. Glue each set of caps to sticky tape in the correct layout. This makes it easy to see that you have a complete set and will prevent key caps from knocking against each other.
2. Make a sandwich: cardboard sheet + layer of bubble wrap + key caps + bubble wrap + cardboard sheet. The sheets of bubble wrap and cardboard should be larger than the sheet of key caps to be able to absorb impact from the side.
3. Tape the sandwich together tight with packing tape.
4. Put everything in an envelope. The envelope does not even have to be padded.

This method should be inexpensive and each could be delivered to the recipients mail box at home.

This sounds like a good method, I only fear it could be too time-consuming for BiNiaRiS to pack 10 sets like this...
Anyway, what are we going to do about the order?
I'd suggest to close it by now.

It has only been a couple days since the first post.
I say, update the first post with final price and conditions. Make it perfectly clear which is the last day that you can sign up and the last day that payments have to be received. Also post the sign-up list there.
Wait until the sign-up date. Then close it.

I just confirmed a final price with the seller for these $250 shipped for 10 of these. So here is the updated price plan:

$250 initial price
$60 shipping to EU
Total: $310 / 10 = $31 each shipped to EU

Grond volunteered to do the shipping once they get to Europe. I can't image it will be too much more on top of that unless you get hit with taxes. I will print up an invoice for maybe $150 since I am only shipping the caps and maybe some switches.

I am stiil unsure of the types of switches in these. Since it is a decent amount of time to pull all of them off, I'd feel comfortable asking for $5 per board if you'd like me to pull all the stems/springs off an package those up in something secure. I would like to start collecting payments soon so that when we hit 10 people I can immediately pay the seller and we can get this rolling.I just confirmed a final price with the seller for these $250 shipped for 10 of these. I'm going to pay mine as soon as you PM me your paypal! :D

As for redistribution, everyone who wants me to send them the keyboard should agree to split the costum taxes with me in case we're charged! Hopefully this won't happen, I just want everything to be clear, in case of bad luck.

the problem now is that xbb and another have opened up another group buy for these same keyboards shipped from England. I need a real count of how many of these everyone would be interested in. I think if we got to at least 7 the seller would still sell them at $20 each.

I've decided to pass.

BTW if you are in trouble because just a person is missing to reach the magic number, I may revert this decision to help concluding the deal.

EDIT: I haven't bothered to read the whole thread, perhaps these are leftovers from a group buy?

so a little update. i will be in Italy the last 2 weeks in September so I might end up just boxing these up and bringing them with me. I need to look into how much I will be taxed though. I assume it'd be easier and cheaper than shipping them since I could just meet up with Grond or maybe someone else since I will be all over Italy.

I have one spare set of these caps since I managed to miscount those who had paid me. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM.
