Same molds, so exactly the same shape. The former is dye sublimated PBT and never wears. The latter is double shot ABS. It is possible to wear the caps smooth over time but you can also have light legends on a dark key.
I have and use both. I prefer the feel of DSA Granite but the look of DSA Dolch.

I like the look of Dolch too. Then again it's kinda silly to buy caps before even knowing when the barebones NovaTouch comes out.

Difference in what sense?
They are both DSA family, but Dolch is double-shot ABS and Granite is dye-sub PBT. And, of course, very different colorways and legend designs.

Massdrop just announced a new drop for the barebones Novatouch for 129.99 USD.

Though I thought they had issues with their last drop of Novatouches...

@Hypersphere, thanks. Maybe I should order it now, without waiting till the drop's final day.
Then again, I probably won't have any caps for months. I've decided to skip on the current Dolch drop. It
looks like they're on the thin side and my Topres won't thock as they should
@Muirium, Am I to conclude that what
will ship in 2018 is the Round 5a?

Welp. Put my dibs on the old 'bones. Silly thing is, according to the shipping calculator, sending the drop through MyUS will cost me maybe five dollars less than getting the regular NovaTouch on Amazon. Not that I intend using the stock version (or the stock o-rings) for long, but man!

You guys have predictable import taxes? That's better than Britain. Here, you start with 20% customs, even if it's marked as a gift. They include any EMS shipping in the total to be taxed. So you're already hit hard. But then the best part: a spin of the roulette wheel marked "customs handling fees". I don't even know where those numbers come from or how high they can go. They always surprise me.
Which is one of a few reasons I never buy a damn thing from MassDrop. Once their prices are ruined, there's not much good about them. While all the problems remain.

I think the most bulky and expensive thing I've imported was Kinesis Advantage and I've paid no duties at all.
Recently our customs installed more hoops for importing stuff (making some shipping majors abandon Russian market for private customers), but event after that you didn't pay anything if the price was under €1000. There were talks of lowering that number to €500 or even €150, but I don't know if they actually did that.
And yeah, our duties are supposed to be predictable. Like 30% off anything over that minimum threshold. Our empire was never as fancy with money as yours

What pisses me off is where does that money go ? Certainly not up here, it all gets spent on the rich southern areas full of tory fuck heads.

Come on, getting information about the UK trade tariff is really anything else than difficult,
look at that simple URL:
https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff
which will soon lead you to the
detailed nomenclature.
Compared to that, retrieving information about any keyboard is really hard work

Customs revenues go into the general public budget.

It does. But due to the way local government funding works , my area gets less and less every year whereas the rich areas down around london do not get cut at all.

Might well be, but it has nothing to do with customs.

Indeed. And everything to do with the first past the post voting system. The North of England is full of rock solid safe seats, so any government spending money all the way up there is acting foolishly. That money must be shovelled into the mouths of swing voters in the South, with their double garages and SUVs. Because they decide elections here. Either vote Tory half the time or die in poverty! "Democracy."
I'm so glad Scotland has an independence movement. Think of how shafted we'd be without the very real threat of leaving the union. Oh, you don't have to imagine: just look at those poor bastards in Newcastle and Liverpool! Proud Englishmen, but truly abused by both parties of government, past and future.
By the way Kbdfr: the big unknown I always complain about is not on that website, because it is not levied by the government. The random fee, which can dramatically exceed the total customs taken, is decided and demanded by Parcelforce: the government's chosen parcel carrier. I also hate those guys for SMASHING UP SO MUCH OF MY STUFF! But even setting that to one side, I dare you to find their table or formula for the fee they add for handling our imports when they are processed by customs. I don't think it exists.

Hmm… looks suspiciously low to me. I've been charged a lot more than those figures several times. I'm sure they hit me for £80 handling on the top of customs when I got the box of 4 Kishsavers and a 50 key. It was a 25 kg box! Tinnie marked the whole thing way less than (the already epic bargain) price he charged 4 of us for them. Yet somehow the buggers got a nice big bite.
Of course, complaints are handled by Parcelforce too. True to form, they tend to get shaken to shit and never arrive.

Here, that value is £15. And they even charge you for gifts. Awful, isn't it!
Russia does it sensibly then, like America and Australia. You get about a grand of headroom there. Which is a good measure of who is a professional importer and arguably deserves to be taxed, versus small individual purchases.
So I imported by HHKB from Japan, via America.

I seriously doubt Russia does it out of good will. Implementation difficulties is more like it.
