I had a Rollermouse and I have the Mousetrapper. Both great pointing devices. My favorites, actually.
For precision work, they are not the best, but they are great for relieving hand and wrist pain.

I used to assume that the video of Steve Ballmer introducing Windows was a spoof, but having seen more of Ballmer it's clear that it really
is him … The bloke is nuts.
The T-Bone video though is just dire.

The problem with Ballmer is that if you say something like "Ballmer is a nut", which is technically correct, he can simply retort by echoing the statement, but with the adjective "billionaire" in it.

That's where the "charity" comes in!

He's pissing it away on a sports team now. A charity of sorts! Usually, the billionaire businessman's idiot son is the one to do all that. Which I guess is apt, as Ballmer never earned anything he wasn't given by daddy Gates. I guess Bill found him $BILLIONS worth of amusing, because Ballmer sure as shit was an awful CEO.

Give him some slack. We all know how we felt when we bought our first sports team.
P.S. Ballmer's retort: billionaire awful CEO.

A couple of good Wolfram Alpha queries:

Funny how someone who burnt 310 billion dollars is still worth 16 himself. And I don't mean 16 bucks…

I dislike the billionaire burner of 310 billion dollars less than Gates, when it comes to business sociopaths. Ballmer is a salesman, when he was appointed CEO I thought it was an obvious mistake as on that level you need a wider vision. Brilliant salesman, no brilliant vision, in a time when it needed exactly that. But in his merit he's transparent. If he yells "developers, developers, developers", you yell "cnut cnut cnut". Gates is more dangerous than that.

Correction: was.
Sorry, I mean: billionaire was!

Ah, those were the days: spot the IBM PC and Mac in the background. Obscured behind desktop clutter, no doubt, are a Model F XT keyboard and an Apple M0110. How cross platform of them…

In the late 80s/early 90s, Microsoft actually made some great Mac software. Then at some point they decided to unify codebases and ported their shitty Windows versions to the Mac, and basically ruined it all. Oh well.

Not electronics plus, but why not post a picture of a box of keyboards?

Shoot me if I ever ship something that looks like that! Where is the packing/padding? Even in my warehouse I don't keep them in boxes like this!

Actually just storage right now. I have individual boxes coming for shipping. I can't imagine how much it would cost to ship (probably have to be freight) as it takes 4 people to move it.

Aren't those Model F AT/XTs? Where did you get that much of them?
Posted: 02 Dec 2014, 22:46
by elecplus
16 x XT or AT with no padding is about 8 pounds per board = approx 128 pounds. Max weight for UPS ground is 150 pounds, but I doubt the box would ever get there in one piece
Nice looking set of old keyboards, at least from the top edge

Nice little ammunition box you've got there Compgeke!
The purpose of my own box shot is now
free for all to see. I needed a graphic to represent Cindy's work for us lot this year. And the first thing to come to mind was a picture my brother took of the delivery he took for me with a 3276, SGI and AEK II inside. Still veiled in their protective wrappers.

Black Invaders, somehow I never got my hands on those but still need to try sometime. Scary Garcia's favorite switch. I bet you never heard of him.

that model m was made for me , it has a split + on the number pad and it already has a tab key on it !!!! F*****g sweet

Sure I have!
They're a
hella meaty switch, and quite high on my all time faves list too. That function bar of MX blues is no comparison!
@Andy: Yeah, I didn't want to spoil the Tab surprise. I checked and every key is good and clicky. Should clean up real nice. The cable's quite neat for a Model M. Watch out for the >180º DIN connector, mind. The keyboard's terminal layout, so it won't be AT. Soarer's your man.

Replacement controller is with way for me , with bluetooth added on. The ideal traveling combination for any iPad.

Now you're talking. Phosphorglow's got a lot of customers lined up once he's ready! Even just for the USB version.
