Why uppercase?

IBM Model M Dutch layout has a ± key.

actually... I don't have any reference for Dutch layout.

just asking :)

as it is now the kit would be pretty expensive

I see !
Well this particular key would be useful for french layout, but if there is an alternative that's ok with me :)

well, there will be blanks and a hell lot of symbols, but if the ² key is important we will leave it.

In term of utility, it is not, but i can't imagine an Azerty layout without it. Blank is ugly when everything else follows perfectly the layout.

If I read your colormap correctly, would it not make more sense to leave out <> instead of <>| ?

green are used just once, yellow twice and so on.

This is more or less the story of my life:

I like your choice of the logo :)

Finally, will you add something like HONEY/MODIFER7 or just stay with this two/three legended symbol keys ?

Here's various symbols I've found on Wikipedia and Google Image for the various control keys and modifiers, all available in various places in Unicode.

ooh nice. I'd need SVG or unicode please

I figure just the symbols is easiest?

⎈ ⎇ ◆ ⌘ ≣ ⎄ ⎆ ⌅ ⌤ ↵ ⏎ ⌦ ⌫ ← ⇤ ⇥ ↹ ⇆ ⌥ ⇧ ⇮ ⇪ ⇫ ⎙ ⎋ ⇞ ⇟ ⇱ ⇲

If that doesn't work, I'll attach or send you the SVG.

I see Option (fork in the road) and Command (curly clover) plus Shift (white arrow), Backspace/Delete (X in a box) and even the fish bones of Page Up and Down. I am happy!

So we have the keys where @ and " are swapped between my Uk ISO i use and ANSI? So I would have to ge the full international kit to cover UK? Will the big ISO enter etc be included or separate?

7bits round 5 had ISO uk options and the more common international alphas ? Anyway of avoiding buying all thelaguagesad having small sets of language specific caps? Maybe even some smaller subsets of the international pack where there are overlap between languages?

Interesting, all Jdeblese's quoted symbols show up fine on my Macs (Mavericks and even good old Leopard) but there's a few missing ones (replaced by squares) on my iPad (iOS 7) so expect some interoperability issues while we try to get these to Matt!

Anyway, here they are all grouped together:

Muirium, that's the Unicode Miscellaneous Technical block? That does cover most of them, but a few like Tab, Meta, or the fish bones are in other blocks.

I had the same problem with regards to characters not showing up, in that only two fonts on my system had all of them, and neither is used in my browser. Given the Unicode values, however, you can look up which fonts support which characters. I mixed four fonts to make that rendering, for example.

I like the double arrow for AltGr, seeing as it really is closer to Shift than to Alt. And I think I prefer the ^ to the ⎈ for Ctrl...

I'm not sure we will be actually using symbols, but it's nice to have them at hand. I'm trying to make some mock ups I'll post them for review asap.

Depends on pricing, I'd like to have just one international set, or maybe we could split it in two if it turns out too expensive. SP will take care of orders and sorting, so I can't make creative pricing like 7bit did.

What a totally unintuitive way to do it :p

Can I get a Dota2 logo for "windows" keys? I can't find a svg for this, so I will either search a bit more or mock up something.

I do occasionally, via screen sharing. It has the same logical resolution as my 15" MacBook Pro (1440x900) gets a bit confused when four times as many pixels shows up!
Great link. I'm well used to those symbols after 10 years of navigating menus like these:

Retina screenshots are loud…

OS X's consistent in using these, as was the original Mac. Definitely want them on my keyboard!

The legends are NOT final!

I'm just working on the kits right now. I don't know if modifiers will be upper or lower case. The "nerdom" kit is still under construction and we still miss the international kit (and ISO enter) that has to be defined yet.

ALL kits will be available in blank variant!

input welcome.

Delight!

The overall colour scheme looks a bit dark, but we've argued about how tricky that is to judge, before. Have you decided on colour codes yet or is this still up in the air?
