The overall colour scheme looks a bit dark, but we've argued about that before. Have you decided on colour codes yet or is this still up in the air?
it will be "granite", color codes are still to be defined. white+gray or L-gray+D-gray. I dunno yet.
If we reach a very high tier we could add the graphite kit, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You had me sold on the Nerdom set even before you added the Starfleet insignia! How about some Borg love?

I had to remove the klingon insignia because it's too tall (same as borg I'd say). Also I'll probably change the Zelda one (which is too wide).
Also I'm not sold about ironman

hmm... Actually I don't need ISO keys
I want to split left Shift into 1u Fn+1.25u Shift.
(Of course, with original layout. so i don't hope for much)

that's interesting, I'll think about it.

Great link. I'm well used to those symbols after 10 years of navigating menus like these:

Retina screenshots are loud…
OS X's consistent in using these, as was the original Mac. Definitely want them on my keyboard!
Windows,Mac and Linux has name own like ctrl, command, meta.etc

So nice, we'll see what you'll prepare for the big iso set

"Pear Modifiers"
The mono legend set is a bit mixed up since in complement with the numpad there is only the \ key which is in normal layer : both normal and shifted keys from us-qwerty should improve that. Moreover, if you add mono legended ÉÈÊÀÙ«»%Ç you add compatibility to
bépo layout,
multilingual canadian layout and
french canadian layout

I'm probably going to add more symbols to the mono-legend, but it all depends on pricing at the end

It's an operator used maybe for some programming languages or mathematical purposes.

If you keep the simple triforce it can work and even be close to the one in
sword&sworcery
Posted: 02 Mar 2014, 12:16
by matt3o
yes, the triforce would be our best bet. I'd try to keep the max number of keys to 16, but (again) it's all down to pricing (I might add 4 more or remove 4).

Ok, it's totally understandable : too few users for a additional 9 keys cost. That's why every keyset should be in mono, starting to azerty
Maybe mono is also suitable with all the national
qwertz layouts
With this technique an the DSA profile you can do easily all the latin layouts over the world

Posted: 02 Mar 2014, 12:40
by matt3o
that would be a nice idea but... then you will have the whiners who want all the legends on the keys

"There will always be whiners."
—A Potential Whiner
Posted: 02 Mar 2014, 12:45

and you also get whiners who whine about whiners. the notorious meta-whiner.
Posted: 02 Mar 2014, 13:02
by Vierax
About whiners, you have a lot of guts to think about removing the E€ key since it's almost in every layout : purists will be upset

(as if we still need to remember where this symbol is located

)
The best one (the winner's whiner) will probably complain about the lack of the Shift+AltGr layer into the language set

oh right! I was almost forgetting about the "compose" key!

How about a merge of Uncanny and Additional mods? (Says the guy who needs both…)
And a space in "CapsLock" and "BackSpace".
Anyway, it's a great proposal. Looking forward to this now more than ever.

I'm not a Macboy but you may want to add F13 F14 and F15 in the Pear set, will you ?
and maybe more !!

I'm putting media keys up there anyway. But good point.
Also: Red ESC in the main kit? Everyone wants that.

thanks for the suggestions, I'll post an update just after lunch.
Good point about RED ESC, it was in the base kit initially, but I thought it would make more sense together with blue return (to help meet the MOQ I guess). Dunno. Thoughts?

Careful, AltGr and Compose are not the same key. One's a shift and the other's a special dead key, if I understand correctly.
I know that a fully legended ergodox is probably a pipe dream - not enough agreement about what goes where - but those various modifier kits include at least some of the mods in 1.5x, right? I'd hazard that there are a few keys that are very common on the 2x keys, such as shift. Any chance of getting those?

I know nothing about ergodox, I put there what you ergo-guys want.

I personnally miss the 2 units 2 stems blank key (necessary for tipromen)

You will probably have it in the blank keys, just want to make sure.
A kit including general use keys as "copy", "cut", "paste", "undo", "redo", "save" would be great as well ; it could be with symbols or letters.

I was thinking to put that in the ISO kit, will see. I got very little feedback about the international set, so I'll make up something

That's how you get feedback. It's much easier for people to react to a proposal than to come up with things from a blank slate.

v0.2
nerdom changed a bit, and don't count on mono-legend (I will probably have to cut it down)
