7bit and 7bot are engaged in a battle to the death over this GB on top of a mountain of keycaps and invoices.

Agreed with Muirium, It's a very long 1st May weekend. Strange that he didn't tell us that he takes some day off, he's always around, even on sunday. I hope he's fine.

If 7bit did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.

Is there any chance this will produced this year?
I hope this is not a very big scam .... :/

It's a devilishy incompetent scam if it is! 7bit put a ton of work into this. And his several previous GBs have been great successes, if always a bit on the late side too. For instance:
Hopefully he's all right, and his computer is the problem.

Muirium will be sad when Round 5 is done and people are no longer gazing admiringly at his keyboard

I'm actually looking forward to it! Beauty is all in the caps. And I want more colours! That's why I'm so into Round 5.
The keyboard is a
prototype CM NovaTouch with Topre switches and MX mounts. Here's Matt3o's with another nice set:

Yes row 3 on the function row then 1-2-3-4-3.
The cursor keys are row 2 and 4, because I like 'em that way.
And the mods are all row 3, due to be fixed by SPH/REPAIR.

Backspace and mods look a bit weird

How annoying is all the mods being row 3.
I barely got together a Round 5 kit and i noticed all the mods were row 3 a little after the fact.

Yeah, Round 5 is an improvement on Round 4 SPH (what you see above). Round 5 has row 1 (Backspace) and row 2 (Tab) mods but still no row 4 (Shift). The reason is that each kind of cap needs a mold to make it. SP is gradually building up the capability to do more and more, mostly because of 7bit paying them! That's why SPH/REPAIR exists: to remake the blue caps that we can now fix.
As for how it feels: no problem. I notice the little gap at the right Shift key (another due to be repaired: it's a little too small at 2.5u instead of 2.75u) more than what row the mods are on. It's more of a matter of looks than feel, I think. But I'm still looking forward to the day we have the whole lot done right!

Thank you, i really am keen on the profiling of the SA caps, and when i saw the differences were so pronounced, i was kinda thinking it would ruin the whole feel. I am mostly assuaged at this point.

Does anybody know 7bit IRL, btw?

Very good question. I don't, and I haven't heard a peep from him in a while. My PM about his Cherry M84 switches that I've been late to send, still sits unread in my outbox.
I know there's a few DT folk in Berlin. Anyone?

I also haven't heard anything from 7bit since his last forum post. I still await invoicing from SP with all collected funds safely in my bank account.

Hmm the funds are still with you? Does that mean the order still has not been placed?
