They just launched the Rapid-I in the US, so suspect that will be next in Europe, then once that is launched they move on the Novatouch.

I think 7bit has had them delay release to match round 5 caps shipment... ;)

Hopefully the delay between US release and EU release of the novatouch will only be a few days.

Such youth, such optimism... ;)

Haha, it will be the hardest test seeing all the people from the US post their pictures of the Novatouch when we in the EU have to wait for the release.

Just order from US if your that desperate ;-)

Ordering from us takes some weeks (my Ducky took about 3-4 weeks from door to door). And I need ISO for my daily driver.

by whitecitadel
Yeah good point on ISO!

Just think of it as a testing phase where we let the US iron out any quality issues before they ship the final product to Europe? ;-)

I also need daily driver, would settle for MX based TKL now but CMstorm only do quickfire TK not TKL in europe at the moment, come on the rapid-i or novatouch!

Well, my NovaTouch prototype is ISO…

rapid-i should be available in a month or so in ISO format but only with the lousy mx browns. novatouch... well let's hope by the end of Q2 ANSI, don't know about ISO.

if they actually made a groupbuy, i think they'd sell more units. and at least have a gauge on the market and the amount of boards they need to produce so as to not become scarce or overproduced

For a niche producer maybe but coolermaster/cmstorm are a global brand, I am sure whatever they produce they will be able to sell. I noticed they had the ANSI quickfire TK on massdrop last week, that might be worth suggesting however as it does secure large order and good price for those involved (although US focused massdrops are not great for Europe due to shipping etc)

The Kickstarter / Massdrop phenomenon is certainly turning things round. I can't expect CM or any manufacturer to want to share internal data, but mechanical keyboards, and especially high end ones, aren't that distant from group buys. The difference is all about who takes the risk.

I have been reading some of the posts above and got a notch from Matt3o to give some confirmation about this but I can confirm to you all that there will be ANSI and ISO versions of our NovaTouch TKL available at launch.. (US/International layout is ANSI and all local EU languages (like FR, DE, UK, etc) will be in ISO layout)..

Any questions regarding this let me know!

the set is DSA Dolch, but not THAT DSA dolch.

SP produced it and will be selling it on PMK. They sent me one set for review.

@CM Bram: You guys could save yourself so much trouble with Blank Kaps :D
@Matt3o: That novatouch looks fantastic!

Looking good Matt3o ;) :D!

@Cookie, yea I get the feeling all you DT guys will be slapping on your own sets of caps :D :P

You bet! Round 5 is going all over my NovaTouch when I get it. In all the colours!

DSA Dolch looks fantastic. A bit on the ANSI side for an ISO board, but…

What are the chances SP will make tooling for DSA ISO enter at some point?

That looks great matt3o!

Now where can I get one? :evilgeek:

Question, the topre switches are patented, right? So you can't buy them? You can't sell them commercially with your own produced KB, right? However, if there would be adapter stems, that is, little pieces of plastic, that are plugged between any topre stem and cherry MX keycap, to make both fit, that would not be prohibited by law to sell, isn't it?

@Muirium Wow, matt3o is a step ahead of my imaginations! So, in futures, it’s all about pricing. 50 Cent a piece (of those adapters) would be affordable.

I'm not entirely convinced. I'd like to see several switches in a row all converted by these guys, wearing MX caps. And then there's the stabs…

by luckynet2
i'm curious as is it possible to have CM change the plate design of their mechanical keyboards so as to facilitate the ability to remove the top covers of the cherry switches without desoldering it. or will it increase production cost etc. we have the technology :)
