Good to see we got away from the "Feminazi" thing thanks to our resident authority on life kbdfr! Because this thread is way too important for stuff like that. :evilgeek:

If I were Italian I already would've bought it  It's not a bad price at all for a NIB set of Italian doubleshots with those lovely windowed lock keys and the winkeys.
kbdfr wrote: I wil not enter into a discussion of why the term "feminazi" has nothing to do with "feminism".
Some of you won’t even know what women had to fight against to attain the position they hold today.
And most of you won’t even notice that this position is still far from equality.
I don't particularly agree with this, but I don't want to derail the thread

Huh. For a second, I thought that was Elton John wearing Google Glass.

No because Elton John is much better looking at any age. Minus the hair.

Apple Adjustable Keyboard. Not a great price unfortunately, they're usually a bit cheaper.

But they claim that it's nib and thus completely unused, well, until now :D

1983 years old? Let's see - that would make it the year 32 AD. Jesus Christ was still alive!
(what keyboard would Jesus use?)

Wonder if that Bulgarian board is Cherry compatible.

blue kpt switches means alps keycap mount.
btw. I own also a keyboard with blue kpt switches, they are really nice.
Clicky but less heavier to press than white alps.

Not always. There are two different, but similar looking, KPT mounts. According to the wiki that particular board has both kinds of switch, the top two rows being non-Alps mount.

I have one of those switches in my Mr.Interface sampler, and I agree they're a real clicky switch. I might well buy the board (via my brother in America) if none of you fellas mind? Who is the guy on DT, anyway?

Both variants are alps mount though. Had a KPT-84 that actually had 4 different slider variants, two blue ones (standard alps/monterey style) and two yellow of both variants.

Confusing! Consider me right misled, and corrected.

I also misread the Ebay listing regarding where the keyboard is. Bulgaria isn't any closer to California than I am! Stupid Ebay UI. Grumble. My chances at this board don't look good…

I've owned a KPT keyboard, while the switch is pretty nice the cases themselfs are flimsy thin PCB mount rattle and flex nap. Proper Alps keyboards need to be plate mounted.

Posted: 25 Oct 2015, 13:59
by Muirium
The wiki says those switches are plate mount only. But given my track record today, perhaps I've just forgotten how to read instead! (It's bleak and weary here, and I'm on lots of ibuprofen…)

Anyway, the auction has a picture of the plate, so I'm reasonably confident about this one.

Plates can be flimsy, of course. Monterey were in a similar boat: their switches were great but they paired them up with some pretty lousy keyboards. (Besides my little K110, which is awesome, probably because of its small size.)

Anyway, if that board is crappy, it still has a tasty set of switches inside, and some nice caps, too. Could be the sort of thing to force me to learn how to desolder without violence at last…

by seebart
Like there are quite a few Alps clones, I'm sure there are as many keyboard variations. Mine lacked a plate and the plastic was the thinnest I've seen, but like I said the switch was nice in feel. Not to be compared to complicated Alps or Montereys though.
