Newest pick-up that I thought would make a nice addition to this forum. This is a ZKB-2, but unfortunately with the ugly Bull badge rather than the lightning Z one. The chassis is awesome though. This one has Yellow Alps.

Zenith made some good boards. Among them, I like the 163-73 variant of the ZKB-2, especially for its dye-sub PBT caps. My case preference vacillates between the sturdy metal of the ZKB-2 and the resonant acoustics of the plastic on the 163-73. The Yellow Alps look so happy on a bare-bones Zenith, but I am partial to tactile or tactile-clicky switches, so I've click-modded my board. Here it is in process, awaiting top housings and leaves from white Alps switches. More's the pity to hide those yellow sliders under caps, but if for no other reason, the caps help to keep the dust out of the switches.

Ok, honestly I'm not quite sure what to make of "SEXIEST" in the same sentence as "keyboard", but presumably it's used in the pornographic sense, in that seeing it makes one WANT it. I've gone out of my way to justify the look and feel of my keyboards (even to myself) in practical terms, other than perhaps the judgement call of "yellowed" equating to "bad", but at least a couple of these made me want them in a purely aesthetic sense, so be it! Most, if not all of these I've posted before, but here they are again. Sorry for the bad photos; a photographer I am not!

Very unique collection. I've seen these boards separately over the years but never all in one place. Your collection / selection definitely follows a theme. I would gladly welcome these exemplars into my collection

Don't tell us you got the name Polecat collecting modest keyboards
Something about seeing a Northgate after several months away makes me want to create the "Omni TKL 84".
Maybe if I ever come across one in bad enough shape to justify that magnitude of plastic surgery.

Yes. I edited the post to indicate that I used top housings and leaves from white Alps switches. The pic was taken before the transplants were done.
What's the switch of the sony beauty? Keycaps and shell shape have similar feeling with JDL, so Topre?

I gave some flowers to my sexiest keeb. A real singular specimen, close relative to model Ms family but with a distinctive character worthy of love as well.
Video footage available for those who want to know more about this kind of wheelwriter keyboard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SW1XT_Hb84

Thanks, I didn't set out to have a collection, it just sort of worked out that way. If there's a theme it's because I prefer early Alps clicky switches, and keyboards that don't turn yellow after only twenty or thirty years.

That comes from certain skunk/weasel tendencies attributed to me before I got online. Fools were made to be laughed at, and why bother if I can't poke fun at myself?
Interesting idea about the Omni TKL 84! That would be easiest on a Gen2 Northgate, because the main PC board on those is just matrix, with the controller hooked to it with a ribbon cable. Only the Gen3 101 has a pure ANSI layout as a starting point, but the others are easy to ANSIfy by replacing the BAE with an ANSI Enter and a backslash above, like I did on the Avant and black Focus. An Alps switch drops right into the cutout on the plate for the guide pin for the BAE key. And it's actually not uncommon to see Northgates turn up with broken cases and other damage. Hmmm...
