Where can I order the items especially the ATMEGA32u2 needed to solder together the xwhatsit controller?
There also seem to be different variations of this piece.
I am in Canada.

What exactly are you trying to make/do?

I am trying to make an ibm beamspring keyboard operational.

I have received the circuit board controller as designed by xwhatsit.

I do not know where I can acquire the microcontroller and other electronic components.

Do you know if the AU, AUR, MUR, or other suffixes affect anything?

Usually they denote different packages or speed ratings, or temp ratings.
You should check xwhasits BOM (Bill of materials) to see which exact part no. he uses.
Or PM him?
