A capacitive touchpad on the spacebar

A company called Synaptics is offering (for OEMs) a touchpad for the spacebar. They seem to aim most for laptops, so I don't expect good keyboards for this.

However, i think i could become a huge fan, because IMO spacebars do really offer space for innovation.

I however fear it might get in the way of typing, as the regular touchpad.

It seems like a nice idea, and Synaptics is the company I'd trust to pull it off correctly. They do know their touchpads.

Hmm, I think this could work, Spacebar is unnecessarily large.

I just don't want to end up randomly scrolling while typing.

Synaptics make most if not all of the trackpads you see now a days. And possibly some of the touchpoints. I like the idea.
