So guys, long story short... I got my hands on a G80-1000 from '88 (week A20) and a WYSE from '86 (pcb version, case refers '84)

I've read several threads trying to identify old vintage blacks VS modern blacks and I got convinced that it was crystal clear to spot vintage ones... some of the threads I'm speaking of:

Bottom line vintages do have the wider/larger logo, just slightly over the top rounded edge. So I've checked and both my vintage keyboards don't have any larger logo. Can someone please clarify once for all the vintage blacks situation?

Probably only Cherry can!
For what it's worth, I am using MX Blacks from a "ComputerLab international" keyboard I got from Cindy, which are way smoother than all my other (modern) blacks and they definitely come from a keyboard made after 1992 (CLI was established in 1992), and probably in 1996 judging from what seems like a date code in the controller.
I think the logo is like the ones in your WYSE, and can snap a pic tomorrow if you feel it'd help.
