Access-IS softprog- how to program second layer keys?

I have my up/down/left/right as other keys for my usual coding. I rarely use the arrows but sometimes I find they would be useful so would like them programmed but as shift/alternate keys. I couldnt figure out how to do it with softprog tho.

I managed to program the normal layer keys first time around but it isn't clear how to program other layers. The layer buttons don't offer any clues.

Do you use the shift-x or do you use another key as shift key.

I read the instructions on their website and that didn't help much either although it was late and I didn't have much mental energy left. I will try reading again and see if it makes any more sense.

Someone please fill me in :)

Soft prog offers the usual shift, alt and control layers, plus one extra layer.

You can map keys to activate a layer either as a toggle, or get it to activate the layer only while that key is pressed.

Softprog doesn't support dual use keys such as space fn, where if you and release the space bar, you get a space, but if you hold down the space and the j key key, you get the left arrow.

I'm not a hundred percent clear on what it is you're trying to do, but it's been a while since I ran softprog...
