I have finally acquired a 55g Realforce 87u and I absolutely love it. I love the colorway, the weight, the Topre switches, everything. I'll probably install some hypersphere rings soon and make it complete.

The one thing that bothers me (a nitpick, really) are the windows keys. They have these circle domes around the windows logo that are a bit off putting. I know there are others bothered by this and I'm wondering if anyone got some alternative keys. I thought about swapping them out with the HHKB but the color (grey, not black) is not quite the same.

Did anyone tackle this first world problem?

Nippy, aren't they? You'd think there would be replacements available for those specific keys, but nope. A full HHKB set is the only alternative I know, and then you've got a third shade of grey to worry about. Ungh! Unforced errors, Topre!

HHKB bottom row mods, with an orange Realforce mod set to keep the eye's attention!

I bought my spare HHKB keyset before I ever got a Realforce. It's not an expense I'd likely consider just for those 4 keys, but as I had it already anyway. As for the orange mods: they're sharp! Just a pity they don't cover the damn 1u keys too.

Yeah, I really don't want a third shade of grey. My first thoughts was dying the HHKB alt keys red or something.

Ah yes. One of the very, very few complaints I've had about my Realforce 87U 55G.
