New Tipro shuts the computer down after Pluggin in

Hi,

I got two TiPro Keyboards, TMC-KRMCV-C3-008, to be precise. It's a PS/2 model. I made myself a PS/2 cable, as descripted in the wiki. When I plug it in, First all 6 LEDS (L1-L4, Num and caps) flash. Then only L1 lights. Directly afterwards my computer shuts down. It's not simply powering off, Windows logs off and shuts down in a proper way. What can I do against this? I can't do anything with changeme, it shuts down too quickly.

I wrote a batch file that executes "shutdown -a" in a loop. I had mulptiple instances running, it didn't help. Has anybody ever had something like this?

PS/2 is not a hot plug interface.
Never plug or pull a PS/2 cable during the computer is on.

Try first to shutdown the pc, connect the tipro, turn on your pc.
Error is the same?

Yes, the error is the same: The computer shuts down directly after powering on.

Had a Tipro COM/PS/2 cable and could find out with a multimeter whitch Pin is connected to which, I could solder such a cable and maybe update the firmware with it.

Do you have a USB adaptor you could try it with; or maybe another machine with a PS/2 port?

With a USB/PS/2 converter it kind of works: Most keys do what they are supposed to be doing, but it seems like the keyboard has a "cool down" of a second, I can only type very slowly.

Maybe you can use a USB protocol analyser to see what is causing the cooldown effect you describe. That definitely doesn't sound right to me but I'm sure others with more knowledge will chime in. bhtooefr or HaaTa might be able to help.

That was I planned to do. I have a digital oscilloscope and one of these cheap chinese logic analyzers. Hope I'll find the time. This is just quite complex for me right now, so I hoped I could find other help.

/edit: The TiPro support tells me they have never heart of something like this. That does not sound good.... :?

I suppose you mean my description (which, ahem, is not in the wiki  ):

And I suppose you are sure you plugged the correct end of the cable into the correct keyboard socket (there are two of them, one is for chaining another keyboard).

Never heard anything like that. Does that happen with both keyboards? Does that happen with another computer?

Yes, it's the correct port. (And there are three, one is for a touch pad modules says the label)

And yes, it happens with both keyboards. I don't know if it happens with other computers, hope I find another computer with a native ps/2 soon.

just confirmed both keyboards works with another computer. Used ChangeMe to update the layout. It's just this combination of this computer and this keyboard do not work together. The computer also powers down when linux is booted, although unlike windows it does not do a proper shutdown and just switches off.

I think of getting either a pci ps/2 card, or, more likely, build my own ps/2 usb converter. The cheap china converter behaves strage, eventhoug other keyboards just work fine.
