Loose Hypersphere's Topre silencing rings?

I just finished installing them on my HHKB and I noticed they don't fit tightly around the slider stems.
They often fell off when I was inserting them back into the switch plate. I ended up putting them inside the switch and then inserting stems inside.
Overall everything fells fine and sounds like I expected it would. I just wonder if it's not a problem that they're loose inside the switch. Or maybe they will stick either the switch or the slider after some time of use?
