Does anybody happen to know what kind of switches (if any) are to be found beneath those lovely keycaps?

For $10 I'd buy it and see for myself :) These look like doubleshots to me. Might as well be Cherry switches.

in the UK there are so often crazy with postage.
1 board 25GBP shipping, 2 for 37GBP. What the hell is going on?
Too lazy to bring it to a postoffice? WTF is Roayal Mail?
This seller is too lazy to answer emails from ebay buyers.
(i tried it...)

My compaq board was shipped for £7,90. What are wrong with these sellers?

Postage is free within the UK. If anyone wants more than one get it shipped to me and I will post it only at charge.

could you post the charge to germany? 1,2 and 5?

Posted: 13 Nov 2011, 12:36
by fossala
Yeah but don't take all 5 :( I want one tomorrow.
I will need to know how much they weight and what size they are.
EDIT: here is a rundown of royal mail prices to Europe.

Posted: 13 Nov 2011, 12:38
by CeeSA
let's say the weight of one is 1KG / 2 pounds plus package 1,5KG / 3 pounds

by fossala
After a certain weight I will need the size of the package.

International shipping of items of weight is expensive... and still they are going broke.
Worst I had though was elitekeyboards with small items to Europe. If I remember correctly that was like $15 for a single keycap to Europe, and $50 for a couple. Over 10 times the cost to ship it in an envelope. I complained. Because of this earlier experience and because it's paypal only, I wasn't in the stampede of Overclock users throwing themselves on the latest limited stock of clickclack keys, but apparently they are still charging these shipping prices for small items because I saw some other people complain about it.

Prices
1 = 10 gbp (Royal mail)
3 = 17.10 gbp (parcel force) (60x60x30cm 4.5kg)
5 = 17.10 gbp (parcel force) (60x60x50cm 6 kg)
These are quotes from Parcel2go.com
I have bubble wrap so I won't charge you for that but I don't have any brown paper so add 1gbp to whatever the final price is.

I would have taken the bargain already if shipping 1 board to Germany wouldn't cost 25£, and 37£ for 2 units :o

There are 4 left after mine, kbdfr wants 1 so I guess there are only 3 left. I will estimate postage with each person and if it becomes any less I will refund, if it is more please can you pay the difference because I am doing this to be nice and cannot be out of pocket.

Found some info on there keyboards.
The keytop layout is custom-definable, and a full range of double shot moulded keytops is available for volume production. The keyboard electronics are controlled by EPROM, allowing easy change of keycodes and interfaces. User definable keymaps are available using the Devmap utility.

The keyboards feature tactile-feel keyswitches with mechanical life in excess of 20 million operations. They are designed to exceed the retail environment requirements of temperature, humidity, shock and vibration.
This was about them as a company with images of the keyboard next to it.

I have also asked other questions in the pm.
Also I need to make clear I am not guaranteeing double shots or mechanical switches, all I am doing is being a proxy.

Only just seen this...

Not cherry compatible. I sold my keys on, but if someone wants the rest of the unit then they're welcome to for the cost of shipping.

Don't think it's mechanical.

Seller is very good, though.
