Hi,

I just have a little question about Cherry MX Brown switches. I wonder if some of you who use or have used these switches could tell me how they last after usage.

I know the tactile feedbacks of these switches are made by friction between a metal tab and a plastic ergot. So the plastic part will be inevitably sanded down after a lot of usage (making them linear), and I just wanted some feedbacks about the time it takes before we could feel an attenuation of the tactile bump.

I find the bump to be so small from the beginning that they will feel linear anyway when you type quickly.

14 years old Kinessis Advantage with brown switches. Used for 12 years every working day. The bump is still well noticeable but it is not the same on all switches. Some have ti more pronounced, some less. Maybe there was a different level of use on different keys or the switch quality was not consistent when it was bought. I probably would not notice the differences even now if I would not look for them.
