Hi guys
When I started disassembling the Model M2 (it was free from my shcool 8-) ), and guess what! Half of the keys didn't work! Yaaaay... So let's disassemble the damn thing and take a look at it. I was taking Very good care not to brake those little tabs that holt the mainboard, and half of them Of FKng corse broke off. Now in additon the foil being non-working (gradually getting better), the mainboard won't stay attached to the case, partially does, but the pressure is not enough to make good contacts. What should I do? About both of theese problems.

EDIT: Yes, I know... I fck up way to muctch stuff, but hey, I'm learning from them

Clean the traces and the parts where the ribbon connector jumps to the PCB well so there are no oxidation spots.

Put something like folded paper or another material under there where you need additional pressure to achieve good contact.

Some of the traces has completely rotten away.

If you can't scrub it off, you're fucked. Get a new one.

You could try using copper tape:

Not sure how well it would work but would be a fun experiment.

Also maybe a Model M membrane could be hacked in? I don't know if they align since I've never seen an M2 membrane yet, but will whenever I take mine apart.

Yes I was thinking about the EXACT same thing, except, with Al tape. That's what I have lying around :D
