Nope...although I have a different issue, the keycap stems are too narrow and won't fit on the side-mounted switches in my G80-5000...I know, very first world problem

Attempting to measure anything switch-sized with typical digital callipers gives random readings, but the Cherry MX keystem measurements are roughly 1.25–1.30 mm for the width of the left and right cross arms, and 1.05–1.10 mm for the width of the front and back cross arms. You can see this clearly by looking at a switch.

It should be impossible to put a keycap on sideways. At least one brand of keycap (those used on Filco keyboards, I think) do only fit facing forwards and backwards but not sideways, as you might expect from this.

If Cherry managed to sell a keyboard with switches mounted sideways, then either the keycaps were different, or you're supposed to be able to put keycaps on sideways, and if the latter is true, then why make the keystem that way?

Hi Damien,

Thanks for your email and the picture. I'll have to double check the sets we have to see if it has the same problem. I'll get back to you as soon as I figure it out. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
Wendy
