They are m-shiki keyboards designed by Masasuke Morita in 1983.

incredible. Thanks. Is the 1998 model still available? i think the design is really good. It's actually similar to the recent Truly Ergonomic, and also the Datadesk Tech Smartboard. I hope Microsoft would fix the 4000 so that the key alignment is not jagged, and also split the space bar so the stiff spacebar most people complaint about would be fixed. That'd make it perfect.
The MS 4000 was my fav, until the stiff spacebar is causing me hand problems after 3 years.
