I didn't realize how worn out the springs were on my first IBM Model M keyboard (from 1989, model no. 1391401) until I bought my second (from 1994, model no. 1397599). I ordered buckling spring assemblies from clickykeyboards.com (they told me the assemblies were original, unused assemblies from electronically defective keyboards). However, USPS lost these and clickykeyboards.com won't send another batch unless their package is marked undeliverable or is returned to them. Should I buy buckling spring assemblies from Unicomp? Are they the same as the original assemblies?

I have a bunch of buckling springs. I'd be willing to sell them to you for cheaper than Unicomp.

I have 2 gallon bags of springs and flippers from M122s. How many do u want?

As I understand it, you can send your keyboard to Unicomp and they will drop in a complete new internal assembly.

I have not done it myself, but that is probably the easiest way to go.

Thanks for the offer, but I would like to install new/unused buckling spring assemblies.

Thanks for letting me know. I think you are right that it would be easiest. But I have already disassembled the keyboard, and I have always wanted to try doing a bolt mod.

They are unused from when I purchased them but elecplus might serve your needs better.
