Im looking to purchase a nice, decent, 45g rubber dome sheet that is as good as topre's genuine domes or better for when I get my plum87.

Hi, best to relist in the Marketplace with a WTB (want to buy) listing. The Topre made dome is probably best bet, but the BKE redux domes maybe easier to get hold of, I've heard the weightings and tactility are not the same as OG Topre though.

Such a thing does not exist. The eBay domes are supposedly terrible.

All of them? Since now there are 4 variants IIRC (super heavy, heavy, light, super light or smth like that) - ah, maybe you refer to the Plum domes, while I'm thinking at the BKE ones.

Yeah you're a bit confused.
There are "electrostatic capacitive" domes on eBay from a 3rd party which are terrible. They don't feel good and don't last long.
Then there are the stock domes from various Topre boards (HHKB, Realforce, Leopold, Novatouch) that are great quality and would work well in your plum I believe, with a similar but better feel than what the stock plum will have.
Finally there are the super-tactile
BKE Redux domes, which you are referring to in that first sentence. These are from KeyClack and come in Ultra Light (35g), Light (45g), Heavy (60g) and Extreme (90g). The weights are approximate and hard to really judge without trying them because most of the weight comes from the tactile bump that you have to press through to make the switch activate, then it drops down almost instantly after that. Not everyone likes these, but those who do love them.
I like both. I'm going to keep my Leopold stock and add BKE to my Norbatouch.

Hey I do know about the different types of domes. I was only (briefly) confused about what "ebay domes" meant in the post above

But if my reply itched you enough to make you make an account here at Deskthority - welcome!

No itching, I made an account first and then made my comment, but not because of you! Thanks for the welcome, I've been on reddit/geekhack for a while now but only previously used deskthority's wiki. Figured I'd join all 3
