Is IBM Model M supposed to cut the key continuity?

Long story short:
Key rollover works just fine in this particular Model M, but for some reason is absolutely not capable of any gaming at all. When I try to use e.g. "W" to move forward and then press "D" to go diagonally, the keyboard cuts off the "W" continuity and that makes me press "W" again everytime I make a move. Is it supposed to be that way or is it just because of my cheapo ps2 - usb converter?

Might be the converter. Also note that the model m has 2 key rollover

True, but that would be super odd as some basic and old keyboards have had 2 key rollover and were working just fine. That would be disappointing if it was really because of it. This is the converter the board came with :

Hmm thats strange, because the adapter looks fine, try another one and see if that helps?

Gonna try to get a better one then. It may take some time tho as I don't really have anything else I think - so ebay my friendo. If anyone here has ability to test it with their own model M, would appreciate very much!

Hey there. It is almost certainly the converter that is causing the problems. The one that you have was the first one that I tried when I got a Model M, and it caused a lot of key chatter. I got a "blue cube" converter and it works nicely. They sell them on clickykeyboards.com if you are interested.

@digital_matthew Thanks! Does it have to be genuine? I am placed in the UK and shipping that thing would cost me more than it's worth. Seen something very similar for several bucks on eBay. Is this going to be allright? :
