Focus fk2002 - solenoid question for a project

I'm not experienced at all with software/electronics part of keyboards, so i thought some people there would guide me into right direction:
I want to build a custom steel case for my focus fk2002 because i feel that the original case is too small and i have a rough idea in mind how i want mine to look. I have some knowledge how to work with metal (i'm a welder as a job), so this part i can pull off.
I really would like it though if i could fit a solenoid to this board. (banging it against a thick steel case would be quite nice i think)
so i ask you more experienced folks there, how should i go about this? should i keep the original controller and piggy-back something onto that to drive it? external power supply for the solenoid doesn't bother me as i'll use this board on my daily desktop. i already got a small solenoid that will do the job i think.

I love it. I am actually attempting a similar thing although I probably won't get around to it for a while. When I do the solenoid part I plan on going back to walker's keyboard science on youtube. He's got some great videos showing how he did it. Could you pm me once you post the photos and sound test? I would love to see how it turns out!
