Opening and cleaning SMK blue clicky switchs

Hey all,

I recently got a keyboard with clicky blue SMK switches but there's a lot of binding and the switches are not close to as pleasant as those in my Siig minitouch.

Chyros published some videos on how to clean and rejuvenate Alps switches, (many thanks Tom!) Does anyone have any advice on doing so to these SMK switches?

they are a pain to open, I have not discovered a good way to do it. Hopefully someone else has a trick that I don't know about.

Oh, easy, just get some toothpicks to wedge I there or if you’re super careful, some small flathead screwdrivers. They are the easiest switches in the world to open without desoldering. Chyrosran22 has a video or two on how to do it.

These SMK switches are not the Alps switches you're mistaking them for.

Ah, you're right. I didn't read the title properly. I actually am wondering the same thing about my SMK blues  :?: :?

I'd really appreciate someone posting a detailed guide on how to open SMK switches. I have some loose and I'd like to look inside one, but I just can't manage it.

Opening isn't too difficult. Closing them up again is a fucking nightmare! xD
