Alps Skff switches - typing sound

I guess this is my first post of some sort of relevance here :) Roughly two months ago I acquired an old Facit typewriter which turned out to have some version of Alps Skff switches and so far I really like them. When it comes to the key feel they are a bit weird tho, the tactile bump is really sharp and crispy I would say, and for their age I got the switches in quite a good shape. However, some feel a little scratchy right before the tactile bump, and when releasing them too fast they make a bit of a plastic rattly noise.

Nevertheless, I really like them and they are really unique in my opinion. Sound-wise it is difficult for me to judge because I suspect that they would sound way better in a proper case. The space bar could be the most rattly space bar I have ever used, but I guess one can fix that really easily with some lube or so. The keycaps don't wobble and off-center key presses are usually no problem. However, I would suggest only typing on them at an angle, due to the fact that when you rest your fingers on them and push them forward too much they can bind a bit (it's a bit hard to explain - I hope you get the idea).

The keycaps are really ,,yummy'' as Chyros would say, and shape-wise they might be my favorite ones so far. They are a pain to remove and I unfortunately broke two switch stems while trying just that, so I would be a bit careful here.

Sorry for the bad video quality however, I hope that the typing demonstration can give you a bit of an insight into how the keyboard could sound in a proper case.

Enjoy and thanks for helping me identify the switches :)

I happened to buy a set of keycaps like this, but dont know where they're from, seller just listed caps and no more info about the history for some reason. Your pic really enlighten me, thanks.

Nice video, key typing sound is really crisp, lovely.

Thanks :) I have the suspicion that they are very similar to beamspring keycaps. Maybe someone can try out if they are interchangeable sometime in the future.

Yeah, that's the exact motivation why I took them, and actually they do fit solidly except height.
