First, I like the mod. A lot.
As I'm being sorely tempted to buy another Focus w/calculator, I have questions:
* Are you planning on making a step-by-step video/post?
* Are you planning on selling these?
* My "killer app" for one of these would be a clock. Can that be done/how hard?

Probably not to the first two. Blame your fellow boomer-mindset DTers for ruining any chance of me wanting to share $500 and many months of work with you.
A clock is next on my list as the "idle mode" instead of just the Keypro logo (or any desired graphic, really), but it would be difficult as you can't exactly network sync this; to set time, you'd have to manually put a future time in the code, then calculate time you flash it at so when it's done flashing and starts telling the time, it's accurate. Then repeat that every month since I doubt a Pro Micro has a very accurate clock source. Oh, I also removed the battery, and although it wouldn't exactly be hard to add it, it would need to be done so you aren't repeating the procedure every time the keyboard loses power.
TL;DR: Yes, a clock is possible, yes I'll try it, but it might not be very good.

Actually, follow up on the comment I made yesterday, dunno why I didn't realize it at the time but I could easily implement a clock-setting function into the calc itself, so just flash once and set every time you need to, no need to reflash. So I'll def give that a shot when I've got time and motivation.

What about an external RTC that the Pro Micro could get the time from occasionally? I found a chip that looks interesting
