[SOLD] IBM 5285 Beamspring keyboard 1981

Hello DT,

I have for sale one of the keyboards from my collection, a near mint 5285 Beamspring keyboard. As you now, the 5285 is something like a 5251 "made right", same layout but much better ergonomics and is a joy to type on.

Fully restored with new foam, clean, fully tested. No rust, beautiful rainbow plate. Very minimal yellowing in wristrest.

It does not include xwhatsit or qmk controller, only the original controller and cable if the buyer wants them. As all 5285's it does not have a solenoid but a beeper, fully working as well.

Spanish layout.

Asking: 1600€ shipped EU/USA. Feel free to ask questions or make offers. You can find me in Discord DT group under the name "mynameisshineee"

So, basically 4978 became the endgame in the beamer's world, I guess? :D

I am working on researching this beast, which seems to be cloning this keyboard, thoughts? I could use some help here, as it seems to also use the same plug of sorts, but might be a different signal.

P.S. While I don't own a 5285 myself, I used to have a terminal at school back in 2017 with one of them attached. They are amazing. This Memorex board isn't built as nice, is slimmer, and uses a variant of the Honeywell Micro Switch.

The connector resembles a DB25 connector. My bad. Thanks for the offer though. I'll try to post a photo of the connector, I can't right now. I have yet to find and info on it, except for a leaflet by Memorex.
