Advice on keyboard that stopped working

I'm looking for some advice. I bought a F1 model Ibm model M that came with a Soarers Converter. It worked fine for a year then just stopped being recognized by the OS. Would the issue almost certainly be the Soarers Converter? This F1 is a tank.
How do I begin to troubleshoot a Soarers Converter? Im familiar with linux and command line but have no experience with hardware or programming.

I always start with cables and connections (and that can be internal as well as external).

Do you have a computer with a PS/2 port? I would start by running it natively via PS/2 without a converter.

I'll see if I can check inside the soarers to see if anything looks off.
This keyboard is the big Din connector, Can I use a DIN to PS/2 adapter without a converter?

Is it an Orihalcon cable?
Sometimes people refer to Orihalcon's cables as "Soarer's" and I would certainly not open one up.
