Help remapping keys on datahand pro2

Question for other proII users - I'm want to remap a key in NAS mode to do something else (for example, I want NAS+right pinky south to give me the equivalent of pressing period two times). I've tried doing this according to the guide:
* normal + reset
* W (for direct access macro)
* Nas + right pinky south to choose that as the key to remap
* .. to say "do .." on this keypress
* normal + esc to finish

However, this only seems to make NAS+pinky south do a single period - is there any way to achieve what im looking for (multiple keypresses of the same key)?

Thanks.

My manual says "You can store a short sequence of keys you use frequently or even a key combination (chord) under a single key called a macro."

NAS+whatever doesn't sound like a single key to me.

EDIT: Other than that it works just fine for me. ....................

EDIT 2: Different question: Does anybody know how to use that windows key? Can't figure it out.

If youre talking about the right ring finger, I programmed mine with <Enter> in programming mode so that right ring is just always windows key - that seems to work well.

Okay, for complete idiots: How do you use the windows key?

I'm beginning to suspect that mine is misprogramed or something.

Nas+whatever sounds like Nas is a specific programmer key, and whatever sounds like the single key.

NAS is a layer switching key on the Datahand.

ah, now I get your first reply.
So basically, you made it work, even to the point where a single key spat out a whole row of periods.

so OP, did you get it working yet?

Well, I had to use the macro several times because you can only program 4 keys, tops.
The Datahand controller really isn't as flexible as it should be considering the price.

I settled for a "sequential macro", so instead of using nas+right pinky, i use left thumb up (normal key) and right pinky and it spits out my set of periods.

Couldn't figure out how to do a sequence with direct access.

Icarium:
In my case I had to program with the following (I'm sure you know the process but just in case not):
* Normal (left thumb) up + reset (on the back of the left unit)
* App/Win key (right ring finger east)

Then to test, right ring finger east and R should pop up a run dialog (at least in windows).

Edit: Sorry I confused east and west - any reference to west has been changed to east

Doesn't do anything for me. The 10key led just keeps flashing when I follow this procedure. Isn't there a "Program selection key" missing in your description?

Also, the Win key seems to be left ring finger west for me.

EDIT: I just tried resetting everything but it didn't help.

The program selection key is the "app/win key" (right ring finger east). Judging by the pictures you posted in another thread, your proII is very different in terms of key layout - different versions? So I'm not sure for yours as its an entirely separate key on mine (not shared with b). Does your manual say anything about Windows (104) key mode?

It says the win key should be sent when I press the app/win key on the left pinky together with the enter on the right pinky but it doesn't work.

I'd suggest hitting up MrFullTimeDataHandPRO himself.. perhaps he knows exactly where you're going wrong (if anything).

I'm sure he would chime in if he knew the solution. My firmware seems to be pretty old so maybe there are some issues there. I would like to replace the controller anyway.

Don't shift to NAS but toggle to and from NAS.
