I'm starting to love the g80-5000 but it has thing that are wrong with it. I'm going to have this one thread dedicated to my g80-5000 and mods that I do to it. Please if anyone can give me any pointers please do.
It's a bit ghetto at but the typing is very comfortable. If anyone has any ideas on how to mount it permanently please say.
EDIT: That is not my reading level, they are my Son's.

You right it wasn't over a longer period. All is back to original now. At least I didn't do anything permanent.

Yeah, I unhooked the spring/wire thing that connects the two halves a while ago. I didn't invert the board like this, but it did allow me to place the halves much further apart, kinda like a utron, ErgoDox etc.
In the end, I preferred it just like Cherry intended it. after all, I'm pretty sure a fair amount of research went into it...
EDIT: Those look like genuine RGB modifiers; how did you get your hands on them?

As I am getting an MX 5000 soon, I would like to take this thread in order to ask you guys some questions about it:
In this review:
http://gdgt.com/cherry/ergo-plus/reviews/ulp/
is stated that the wrist rest is removable. True or false?
Also, there are F13-F17 keys on the left. Could you program them in autohotkey like:
+F3::foo
?

No, the wrist rest is not removable, it's part of the bottom of the case. I couldn't see why you couldn't but I have never used autohotkey or the F13-17 version.
