hey,
is it possible to change the springs of the 6gv2 with some lighter ones without soldering? i've read about how to remove the springs on other keyboards without soldering, but is it possible on the 6gv2?
i love the sound of the steelseries board, even when bottoming out. that's why i want this board with lighter springs, since blacks seem to be a bit too hard to push.

No. It is not possible. Steelseries have plate-mounted switches.
If the switches are mounted on a plate, then they can not be opened without damaging the plastic casing. There are people that have opened switches by drilling in them, or cutting of the tabs that hold them together, but there would be a large risk that you won't be able to close the switches again. Soldering is the least harmful option.

Haha I wanted to do the same thing before also. Good thing I didn't go through with it.

alright, thanks for the answer. now i have to rethink again? it is time for me to spend some money, though. been thinking about a new keyboard for over a month now. +50% $ in EU compared to US keeps me from buying a filco/ducky/whatever..

Its a shame that there is no European distributer for the budget boards yet. Then again... the Ducky boards became quite pricy once an American distributor popped up. So maybe there is not much to save even then.

Please correct me if I'm wrong :
Filco : Made in Cheap Slaveland .
Steelseries : Made in Cheap Slaveland .
So, unless old Maersk McScrooge is giving Steelseries a sweet deal on a container, due to nationalistic feelings,
there is only one explanation for the fact that a Filco imported to Denmark from the UK costs 3 times as much as a Steelseries : Capitalist Greed ..
(In Denmark, a Steelseries 6Gv2 costs about the equivalent of 50 UK pounds, including 25% Danish sales-tax .
Compare that to the price of a Filco with Blacks from Keyboardco.. with 20% UK sales-tax)

i want to spend my money... i would have already bought a filco red from the keyboard company, but seeing that they sell their boards via amazon to the US for like 50% less, i've reconsidered and keep asking myself why they're that much more expensive in europe. i mean, it's the same company.

Everything is more expensive in Europe for one reason or another.
Same with all the game consoles.. back then PS3 was $399 and at the same time 399 Euros.
