Rubber keys on Kinesis Advantage trigger randomly

I have a Kinesis Advantage that worked fine for a couple of years (until it was out of warranty..), but now the small rubber keys on the top trigger randomly, and sometimes repeatedly, without anyone touching the keyboard. Having the computer grind to a halt when it is suddenly instructed to open 30 instances of the e-mail client is not very useful.
I know I can send it in for repair, but from where I live the shipping is insanely expensive, so it would be nice if I could fix it myself. Has anyone else experienced something similar, either with this or other keyboards? I can't see any mechanical damage, so I guess there's buildup of charge or something like that (grounding issue?).
