Taller than Tall Profile Keys

Something about the function row in this picture isn't right. But I like it!

Someone on Edinburgh Freegle is giving one away. The drawer, not the keyboard! Pity. That's one HiPro of a mockup, surely?

I saw a keyboard with keycap like that on US ebay awhile ago. But it was only the ENTER key. Keycaps 3cm tall! OH YEAH!!!

I've got a set of worn, yellowed keycaps where the function row would be like Cherry row F (if Cherry ever made one). It is one step above numeric row. The rest of the set is Cherry profile, but not made by Cherry.
Vintage Apple keyboards (Alps switches and similar) have quite high function row keys also, but the profile is aligned with the curve of the case that you can't see how high they are.

Cherry did make F row profile. They can occasionally be found on some really old G80-1000 and some others but they are not that tall!

I think that picture could be a little squished. That monitor looks like one I have owned and I remember the power button to be wider.

My row F key is higher than a OEM numeric row, but not as high as the Ctrl key from my Kinesis. The Kinesis has OEM profile keys otherwise. The Ctrl, Alt and GUI keys are the highest up in the thumb clusters.

I'm suspecting image corruption.

I did lay my hands on some authentically tall caps today.

Not a euphemism! I laid my hands some sweet tall caps, still in their mysterious keyboard. Which isn't mine.

A little sneak peek of a forthcoming pictures thread. It was not alone.

Ah, see, those are doubleshots from back in the day when they were made from tough plastic that retained its texture forever.

Indeed, they're still a beaut. I've no idea about the keyboard's identity, however, as the bottom was replaced at some point. I'll get off my arse and up the pictures once the weekend's settled a bit. Honest!

I believe I have the tallest of the tall keycaps:
Victor9000keythick.jpg
It's from the function key row of the Victor 9000 keyboard (1982). For comparison, the beige keycap beside it is from an IBM Model M.
