I'd keep the MX compatible caps because I'm always up to some layout experiment or another, and I haven't been in enough GBs! But you're probably right. No Alps mounts in there?
And what is this of ghetto o-rings? More bother than its worth?

What's the condition of the NMB board? I've been chasing a rubber dome NMB to try -- if you're interested in parting with it, that is.

Mitsumi Hybrid Switches, You can use keycaps from a Commodore 128 or Amiga...
You could replace the buckling rubber rings with springs to get linear feel.
