I've been looking for really small RGB LEDs that can fit a Cherry switch for a while... low and behold this one's using some:

What sort of LEDs are those? Any idea?

With the key caps on, can't tell. Mtl's working on an RGB LED backlit custom board here, but it takes a little leg bending and switch cutting to get it to work with currently available LEDs.

The bigger challenge is the TrackPoint he's put right between switches. A most crafty keyboard!

Ah, I obviously didn't look long enough. Not much detail in the pictures, but enough to see that those LEDs are certainly rectangular in shape, quite like Mtl's:

But I don't see any obvious signs of switch modding, and I really wouldn't expect it either. Keycool would have an easier time getting made to measure LEDs than training people to do Mtl's mod at industrial scale!

mtl's 2x5x5 are way bigger than what these guys are using, wonder if we could get our hands on something like that...
