Hey deskthority community, I recently invested in a filco majestouch 2 mx browns tkl after using a razer blackwidow tournament edition with blues and Im slightly disappointed. From what I have read all over internet browns should not be clicky like blues are and they should be slightly lighter or the same in terms of force needed to press the key. Browns should also have the release point closer to the actuation point than blues. Now my problem:
My mx browns feel deffinetly harder to press than blues I used (I still have that keyboard to compare). The switches I have on my filco feel like middle ground between mx blacks and mx browns meaning I have the tacticle feedback but the keys seem just a little lighter than blacks and quite significally harder than blues. Is this just my imagination?

I bought it from thekeyboardcompany so I messaged them about my issue and they said that my switches feel this way because the keyboard is brand new. I dont know what to do now since I really like the keyboard but if I could I would deffinetly prefer my keys to feel lighter like I expected them to.

PS I have no options of checking out browns on other keyboard since they arent common in my country.

Do they feel scratchy? Or just plain heavier?

And what do you make of the tactility?

By tactility I mean they have that little bump when the key is actuated. It seems slightly smaller than on blues but from what I read its to be expected.
They dont feel scratchy, they just feel plain heavier.
Since blues are 50cn and blacks are 80cn I would say my browns feel like 65.

Weird.

Blues have a similar spring to browns and reds and the basic weight should be the same. If it was scratchy: it would be a sign that they need lubed. Not the easiest process the first time you try to open switches! The difficultly lies in how they are mounted in the keyboard.

When switches are brand new, they can feel a little different. Microscopic rough spots in the plastic wear down quickly, I guess. See if it persists. But someone who knows more about springs might be able to help more than me.

Well right now I can return it for a refund so Im not quite sure how long can I be testing if the issue persists :/
My blackwidow feels really light and its brand new too. I hoped that buying a filco will spare me any problems and disappointments yet here I am :(

Blue and brown is just a terribly different beast. The blue's clicker might actually "pull" your key down once it's past the actuation point and slams into the retaining tab, and once it's down, there's no friction and thus a lighter key feel:
