I recall trying to find information on these when doing research into the most infamous bad keyboard of all time abour 2-3 years ago. I only found one detailed description of its internals which described it as a rubber dome keyboard with carbon contacts over a PCB, and this is the first time I've seen pictures of the insides. The pictures also confirm what I read about how the "improved" keyboard was the same as the original, but with more conventional keys instead of the 'chiclets'

The latter picture sort of reminds me of the underside of the top part of the IBM M4.

Just a heads up, take the information with a grain of salt. The VCF guys don't approve of the information.

Had a wee look at the VCF thread, and apparently El Reg isn't any different to the last time I remember visiting there, donkeys' years ago: churn with a cocky edge. Although the one about far left Apple fanboys cracked me up.

The pictures are good, though. Just don't trust any of the prose. There's some clangers.

Does anyone here actually have the PCjr keyboard like this one?:

I really want to know just how much it sucks. The domes actually look like they're pretty good quality and it looks similar to Topre's conductive dome switch (which doesn't feel great but it's not bad really). I'm finding myself to be much more accepting of dome/membrane boards in general these days. Experimenting with an NMB dome with slider board, Olivetti and soon Fujitsu Libertouch.
