Case quality.

Hi! As a matter of fact, the cases from Qtan are of bad quality, look here

Are those on Taobao, like this one

of the same bad quality, or better?

Did you get in contact with qtan first? What did he say?
I hope you didn't post first to complain about what could be a faulty unit.

EDIT: Not saying it doesn't look terrible, but I doubt that it's normal.

Your picture looks like a home made layer case. I don't know why Qtan, or any commercial outlet, would be selling those. They aren't cheap, and the reason we make them is to enable bespoke, custom keyboards.

Aftermarket cases are typically good old solid cast metal.

The Taobao-case I linked above seems similar, maybe the same model, same bad quality?

Weird. Definitely avoid it. There's no advantage to a fiddly layer case over a solid slab when you're talking about a common PCB like the Poker.
