The album has the full explanation (I'll post here for the lazy), but essentially I'm making a weird controller/keyboard/mouse!

The "keyboard" is two controllers, with four keys and two "shift" buttons each. You type with the keys and change keyboards with the shifts. This gives you the full range of a regular keyboard without having to move your hands at all. If I manage to put in the optical sensor, I can use the right one as a mouse too!

I'm currently off the design phase since I like the design well enough. Now I'm on to the circuitry. What I'm hoping to do is use two arduino nano's. The left one would communicate with one another through RF and then have the right controller talk to the computer through bluetooth. I'm planning on using regular keys for the keys themselves, since it would make them easy to buy/replace.

If you need to press multiple keys to get a letter, you might prefer to use the term "keyer". For example, Wikipedia lists the "Twiddler 2" as a one-hand mouse and input device.

I'm wondering though how big it is, because having to clasp it for too long might actually make your fingers go sore.

You'd only need to press at most one key and (maybe) one button at any given time.
