The Stenosaurs http://stenosaurus.blogspot.de/ is keyboard with cherry mx keys designed for machine stenography a la plover. http://plover.stenoknight.com/. The idea is to press multiple keys at once to produce a syllable. This works with any NKRO keyboard, but the flat keycaps make it more comfortable to press multiple keys at once. One of the most exotic keyboards I have ever seen. AFAIK it is planned to be release as a commercial product, although all i could find was a very plain website http://stenosaurus.com/

Any idea on the price of these things? I've seen that stenography machines are very expensive but also very quick to a trained typist.

No, I don't. But so far these people try to reach a wider audience, so I'd guess it will be a way cheaper than regular steno keyboards. I'd guess It will cost as much as a typical 60%.

Stenography keyboards are often more ergonomic than that. With the hands angled from each other, split or with at least more hand separation and with slightly dished keycaps.

Does anyone have an email address for these guys? Is there an archive of their mailing list somewhere?
