Rebinding the FN key to another key

Hey guys !

I have a little question for you, I was thinking of switching the FN key to another key like windows key or L Alt for instance. You might ask yourself why I would want to do that, the reason is quite simple : my FN key is "broken" (tbh I don't really know what's wrong with it, might be the switch, might be something else) and since I am not used soldering/desoldering I was wondering if I could solve my problem with a software instead of having to hack my KB.

So if one of you keyboard wizard have a solution for me please share !
Anyway it's good to be back here, been restarting to read this forum and it's fun !

Unless this keyboard is very special, the only options will be to fix or replace the switch, reroute traces on the PCB, or replace the controller board with a 100%-programmable controller, since I don't imagine any other controllers will let you move Fn.

However, it would really help to know what the keyboard is, and how it's programmed, as maybe you've got lucky and the keyboard actually lets you move Fn around. You certainly can't move Fn in the OS, as the computer is never aware that it exists. (Except Macs, where I think the Fn key on Apple keyboards is visible to OS X somehow.)

Thanks for your reply, you're right I totally forgot to point out what my keyboard is! It's a Ducky Shine 1st Gen. so I doubt it is a very special keyboard. I'll start re-reading the wiki and other related stuff and dig into my KB to see what's wrong then! Hope I don't mess it up haha!
