Keyswitches Mitsumi standard mechanical

Monterey K7S is a rare keyboard from Monterey.

Description

The K7S is based on the IBM Model F XT, although the layout is somewhat different.

The keyboard features unusual keycaps with very steep sides.

The switches appear to be Mitsumi mount Type 2 Mitsumi standard mechanical with a slider design presently observed to be unique to this keyboard. Three switch types are present:

  • White shell, white slider: reported to be linear
  • Black shell, white slider: appears to be latching with LED, as it is used for caps lock
  • Black shell, blue slider: appears to be a heavier switch, as it is used for space bar
