RAFI produces the RAFI System (RS) family of switches, which they declare as full-travel keyswitches. In RAFI terms, "full travel" means a total travel of 2.5 mm or more, corresponding to an actuation travel of at least 1.5 mm, whereas "short travel" corresponds to actuation travels of 0.3 to 1.1 mm.[1]. "Full travel" keys are designed for typist keyboards, whereas "short travel" keys are meant for machine operation and keyboards under foils.
The family was introduced in 1975. All switches use the same square keycap mount.
